Note: It is possible to use several instances of EGREP at the same time, provided you do not need to use EGREP Advanced. When using EGA, the following system note must not appear, as otherwise the port required for EGA is blocked by EGREP for communication. If the port is blocked or another instance is already active, you will receive the following error message:
If this error message appears although you have not opened an instance of EGREP, the application may not have been closed correctly and a task is still open in the background. To check this, press "Ctrl+Alt+Del" to open the Task Manager. Search for "(32 Bit)" in the running processes and terminate all open "EGREP" processes. (Right-click on the process - End Task).
If there are no open instances, please check your firewall settings and make sure that EGREP has unrestricted access for outgoing and incoming communication in the firewall.
If all open instances are closed and the port release for EGREP is stored in the firewall, EGREP should start again without any problems! If not, please restart your PC and try to start EGREP again.
